Fault Resolution Status:
A national network issue affecting UCD has fully been resolved. A permanent solution has been implemented by operators and they continue to monitor the reliability of the network. No disruption to UCD services is expected.

Wednesday, September 3 – 08:00:
Service to the network has been fully restored. Our telephone provider have advised us they have a permanent fix implemented. UCD staff will continue to monitor the services as load increases during the day.
Wednesday, September 2 – 18:30:
Service is restored to the Network and has been confirmed as stable. Network Operators will continue to troubleshoot overnight focusing on one particular network exchange, and this may result in intermittent outages, however this will be done in a managed fashion. We will provide further updates tomorrow morning.
Wednesday, September 2 – 17:00:
Services have been confirmed as restored to customers nationwide with the exception of Whitehall exchange in Dublin. The operators continue to restore services on this exchange and monitor existing workaround implemented.
Wednesday, September 2 – 16:00:
A workaround has been implemented to restore service nationally. Some international services continue to be impacted. Operators continue to work to fully restore service.
Wednesday, September 2 – 15:00:
The incident is ongoing and impact of outage remains intermittent for UCD.
Services in the 01 area are stabilised. The next step is for network services to be introduced provincially to restore services and to identify route cause.
Wednesday, September 2 – 14:00:
The incident is ongoing and impact of outage remains intermittent for UCD. We have been advised that calls to (01) Dublin region numbers are now operational. Testing is ongoing to validate this. Our providers continue to work to diagnose the issue on the National platform itself.
Wednesday, September 2 – 13:00:
Our Telephony provider have confirmed this is a Core Telephony network issue.
Estimated time to fix is now 15:00, however we cannot guarantee that full service will be restored at this time.
Please note that this issue is not isolated to UCD customers only and is a nationwide multi operator issue impacting all carriers & networks nationally.

UCD technical staff continue to monitor the situation, but there is no estimated time to resolution of the fault affecting most operators in the area.

The fault affecting external fixed and mobile communications to UCD has not yet been located, but is external to UCD.
