If you cycle, run or walk as your main commuting mode to and from UCD we want to hear from you.
UCD Estates has set up two active commuting groups as a fun way to encourage students and staff to commute in a sustainable way – by foot or by bicycle. It helps to create a community of like-minded individuals, should provide some inspiration and be a source of encouragement, as well as a bit of healthy competition.
Whether you are just starting out, walking 500 metres or cycling 30kms each day to get to work, please sign up and share your experiences!
Two UCD Clubs have been created on the fitness tracking app “Strava” – one for cyclists and one for those who commute on foot.
Strava is used to log your runs, cycles, walks and other sports. At a basic level it records your route, distance, average and maximum pace as well as overall time. You can track your improvements over time on the entire route or sections, compare your times to others and share your efforts with friends. There’s also discussion forums and more detailed analysis features for more serious users!
