UCD bike day will take place on the this Thursday 8th October, 2015, at the student precinct area (Located between the Health Science Building and Student Centre).
UCD Bike day is held annually to promote all aspects of cycling; safe cycling practices, the health, economic and environmental benefits of cycling and bicycle security.
Activities will begin at 8.30am when cyclists can avail of a complimentary breakfast.
From 11.00am Belfield bike shop will carry out free bike checks and give advice on bike maintenance. There will be information available on cycle times and cycle routes around University College Dublin as well as free gifts and prizes.
A cycling instructor will be on site to speak with people on safe cycling practices and refresher cycling training is available for anyone interested.
To coincide with UCD Bike Day, the RSA safety shuttle bus and roll over simulator will be on Campus from 10:30am to provide staff and students with the chance to interact with various road safety campaigns and to spread the message about the importance of road safety.
UCD Bike Day is organised by UCD Estate Services in association with: The Belfield Bike Shop, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, the National Transport Authority and the Road Safety Authority.
