How can we minimise the impact on our environment by reducing our waste

UCD Green Week is run by UCD students, staff and societies working together through the Green Campus Initiative. We will be hosting our events online, and promoting events from Campuses who are taking part in the An Taisce Green Campus programme, as part of the inaugural National Green Week!

We make 7 million journeys to and from the UCD campus each year. How we choose to commute can have a big impact on the environment.

We once again ask for a big effort to Switch-Off this bank holiday weekend. This extra effort can make a very considerable contribution to reducing UCD’s carbon footprint and help us progress towards our 2020 targets.

The official 2018 results are due to be published shortly by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI). Early indications are good, however the period between now and the end of 2020 is crucial to our success.

The UCD Energy Unit would like to raise awareness once again of the benefits of shutting down non-essential equipment this Easter long-weekend.

The UCD community is working hard to reach our 2020 energy efficiency targets, which require a 33% improvement in energy efficiency.
